MELANCHOLY
Sparked by curiosity and play, the pieces included in the Melancholy project display a merge of material experimentation and design. The fluidity in surface texture was achieved while experimenting with accessible materials and was accentuated after being cast in aluminium, also adding to its gothic characteristics. The project then focused on applying a new-found technique to a range of objects, each with varying styles and some juxtaposed to polished surfaces. The final shape and form weren’t necessarily important to the project nor heavily considered, rather viewers are invited to take a closer look at the details exhibited in each piece.
